1.   RESCHEDULED EVENTS:

Pancake breakfast:  The class of 2015 pancake breakfast has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 11th, from 7:00 AM-11:00 AM.

 

College Financial Aid Night:  Shalom Christian Academy has rescheduled its 3rd annual Financial Aid Night for next Monday, January 30, at 6:30 PM room 132 (music room across the lobby from the main office).  Our presenter will be Greg Gearhart, Director of Financial Aid at Messiah College. Greg will share valuable information about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), loans, grants and scholarships.

 

 

2.    HOT LUNCH INFORMATION:  Attached is the lunch order form for February.  It can also be accessed through our website, www.shalomca.com.  Click on “About Us”, then on “Forms and Documents”.  Forms are also available in the main office. Remember, orders may be placed weekly or monthly, and are due noon each Friday for the following week.

  • Beginning next Tuesday, January 31st, and continuing for the remainder of

          the school year, Tuesday’s pizza will be from Vinnie’s.

 

  • Please note that Tuesday, January 31st, and Thursday and Friday, March

1st and 2nd, are included on February’s order form.

 

 

    3.    PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will be held Tuesday, February 7th.  Students will have a 1:00 dismissal that day.  Conferences will be scheduled between 1:15 and 5:50 PM. If you would like to schedule a conference, please fill out the attached form and return it to Mrs. Patti Crilley in the elementary office by Monday, January 30th.  You will receive email confirmation of your conference time(s).

 

 

4.    PARENT ALERT SYSTEM:  In the near future we will be implementing a new parent alert system which will notify parents by phone message, cell phone text message and email when we have an important announcement, i.e. weather-related delay or cancellation, bus delay, event change, etc.  We will give you further information when we have the system in place.

 

 

5.            SHALOM APPAREL:  We are currently taking orders for Shalom apparel.  Orders and payment are due Friday, January 27th, and will be ready for pick up Friday, February 10th.  Attached is a list of items available for sale, along with an order form.  The list and order forms are also available in the main office. Samples will be on display at this evening’s home games, and can also been seen in the main office.

 

 

6.    TEACHER CONVENTION:  Next Thursday and Friday, February 2nd and 3rd, our teachers will be attending a convention, so there will be no school for students.

 

 

7.    SHALOM SCROLL:  Check out the link on our website, www.shalomca.com, to view latest edition of the Scroll.  It’s below the weekly parent letter link in the lower right hand corner of Shalom’s homepage.

 

 

8.     PTF WOLFGANG CANDY SALE:  There has been some confusion as to the due date of the Wolfgang orders.  Since we are not having a pizza sale, the dates were changed slightly from what was originally on the school calendar. Orders are due February 3rd, but since we do not have school on February 2nd or 3rd, please turn orders in by Wednesday, February 1st.  Please note that in addition to candy, there is a catalog of other items, including flower and other planting kits.
