1.  PARENT ALERT:  Yesterday we did a test of our parent alert system, and while we did not send the correct message the first time, we are happy to see that it is working well.  Thanks for your patience.  We currently have the system set up to call home phone numbers, text and call cell phones and send emails.  If you wish to remove any of these from our contact list please let Kathy Grove know, kgrove@shalomca.com.

 

2. TEACHER CONVENTION:  A reminder that students do not have school this coming Thursday and Friday, February 2nd and 3rd.  Some of our faculty will be attending a Mennonite Educators Conference in Virginia, and some will be visiting local schools.

 

    3.   PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will be held next Tuesday, February 7thStudents will have a 1:00 dismissal that day.

 

4.  ATHLETIC NEWS:  This coming Saturday, February 4th, our varsity boys will be participating in “Dunks for Drew” at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. They will play CVCS at 3:00 PM.

 

5.  BIBLE QUIZZING NEWS:  Last Saturday our middle school and senior high teams competed in a meet at Lititz Area Mennonite School. Questions were taken from I Peter and James. Below are the results.

Middle School – Erik Lehman was top scorer for the Middle School team (Erik Lehman, Elijah Snodgrass, Micah Young, Brittani Lehman, and Hannah Sollenberger) with 110 points, assisted by Micah Young with 30 points.

Sr. High – Quizzers Megan Fletcher, Anthony Watkins and Daniel Watkins competed against 48 other high schools.  Shalom had three 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes in five matches, with three teams competing in each match.

 

6.          ITEMS FOR FEBRUARY’S SWAP SHOP are due to Kathy Grove, kgrove@shalomca.com, Monday, February 6th.

 

7.  WOLFGANG ORDERS:  We were planning to collect all orders by tomorrow, Wednesday, February 1st, but if you would like to continue to take orders over the break, you may turn them in Monday, February 6th.
