Middle School Student Life

  • Each student is assigned to a small group of 10 – 12 students from each grade and both genders. These groups meet together to discuss chapel topics. Periodically, they eat lunch together. Each group plans a service project that is done in the spring.
  • Students can be part of Middle School Chorus that does a program at Christmas and in the spring. The spring program is typically a musical.
  • Band students perform at Christmas and spring programs.
  • Each year sixth grade does a live nativity as part of the middle school Christmas program.
  • During the school year a speaker spends a week with students in a Spiritual Emphasis Week. He/she presents in a chapel period every day and also goes into classrooms to discuss the topic on a deeper level.
  • For the student who enjoys math, there is opportunity to compete in Math Olympics that is sponsored by ACSI.
  • Each fall, two students from each homeroom attend a Middle School Leadership Conference. These student leaders then lead their peers in a chapel at a later date. They select a project for middle school students for the year.
  • For three days in the fall, students participate in Mini Terms. These provide opportunities to explore new interests and interact with peers and teachers differently
  • Student leaders plan the activities for Spirit Week in February. This includes class competitions and themed dress days.
  • Selected students may participate in a district Spelling Bee sponsored by ACSI.
  • Pastors are invited to spend a morning at the school interacting with students in classrooms and in a special program.
  • Field Day is planned following achievement testing. Students enjoy competitions and other activities.
  • Students who participate in Bible Quizzing memorize large portions of scripture each year. They compete with other quiz teams during the winter months.
