Elementary

Shalom Christian Academy offers multiple athletic opportunities for elementary students:

SOCCER
Fall and spring soccer programs are offered to boys and girls in grades K – 5th. The purpose of the program is to teach fundamental skills and rules of soccer and to have fun. Each team practices one day per week and games are held on Saturday at Memorial Park in Chambersburg. Teams are based on grade and are assigned to parent coaches. For more information, please contact Athletic Secretary Jen Lehman at jlehman@shalomca.com.

BASKETBALL
The FUNdamental basketball program is offered on Saturday mornings at Shalom Christian Academy for 10 weeks through the winter. The program is open to boys and girls in grades 2nd – 4th. The purpose of the program is to teach fundamental skills and rules of basketball and to have fun.

The 10 week program is held on Saturday mornings under the direction of Coach Roseman. The first four weeks of the program will be instructional. Players will learn rules and skills through drills and competitions. After the third week, players will be divided into teams, and games will be played. Score will be kept, but league standings and a game book will not be kept. There are no awards for first place or most valuable player. All players will play at least half of every game. The objective is to have games that are competitive and FUN. Our goal is to establish an environment which encourages every player to leave the gym wanting to play more. For more information, contact Murray Roseman at mroseman@shalomca.com.

GO GIRLS GO
Go Girls Go is a running program for girls in grades 3rd - 5th to engage in physical activity and to improve their overall health. This includes their physical health but also their emotional and spiritual health. Leaders work with girls on  self-esteem, goal setting, friendships, physical activity, and knowing who they are in Christ. They finish the season with a 5K.
